That’s how it is.
If you have a secret, that too while you are in a relationship, the other person will urge you to spill it out.
And the often repeated phrase is — it’s okay, it’s a SAFE SPACE.
You will be accepted.
But the truth is you will be only accepted when it’s convenient, easy and already acceptable. Else they will blame you — that’s not something anyone would accept.
But you said you will accept. Yes and now I don’t. Share only what you think others can handle. And to test this, think what your conservative mom would think.
Remember everyone has something to hide, something which scares them, don’t keep sharing your scares.
