I love how when the Medium Partner was for affluent countries, the requirement was none and then 100 followers.

Now when they are opening up for not-affluent countries, they are switching to paying $5 monthly.

And it doesn't apply to those affluent people who have already joined.

Wow, that totally makes sense to be biased, egoistic and unfair in practice.

But hey, we got a nice press release so it's all good.

This translates = if you can't afford to pay $5 monthly for at least 12 months then you don't deserve to earn money from your creative work (It would take any new writer at least 12 months to build up a following and earnings)

All the discounts to affluent, rich folks and price barriers for not-so-affluent people. Yeah, that makes total sense.
